Do you think you are ready to PIN daily?
Do you know how to design click-worthy PINS?
Are you going to PIN using a scheduler or manually?
Before all these questions and doubts Ask yourself do you even know How Pinterest Works?
Pinterest is undoubtedly the best traffic source for bloggers and it is easy to drive traffic from Pinterest when compared with Google.
So before you start PINNING on Pinterest you need to keep few things in mind to avoid roadblocks down the line.
Most Important Things Before You Start Pinning.
1. Responsive Design
85% of the traffic on Pinterest comes from mobile devices. So make sure you have a responsive design of your website.
You can seamlessly edit the homepage and other pages with the inbuilt drag & drop builder.

2. Legal Pages & Content
- Legal Pages
For example, If you have a Health & Beauty blog, and someone has used a product recommended on your blog which may have gone bad for the user. There is a heavy chance they might sue you & end up paying a huge sum for the damages.
You can set up these legal pages on your own. But I recommend you to check out the Comprehensive Legal Bundle Template by Amira, she is a lawyer, helped over 10,000+ bloggers & entrepreneurs set up custom legal pages based on their niche.
- Blog Content
Content is necessary for any platform, you need to write at least 10-15 blog posts before you start designing PINS & Pinning.
Pinterest favors fresh content on their platform so having more blog posts are important and helps you rank higher on the platform.
You need to create atleast 3-5 PINS for every blog post in the initial days before you start pinning.
3. Clickworthy PINS
The most important metric is not Impressions but Link Clicks. If you see millions of impressions count on Pinterest profile those are the Impressions on your PINS on Pinterest, not the people visiting your website.
To get people to click on your PINS you need to design click-worthy PINS with clear image and easy to read text.
The picture above shows the difference of how the text on the left side PIN design is harder to read and understand when compared with PIN on the right side.
I recommend using Canva or PicMonkey for designing PINS.
4. Google Analytics
Understanding your audience is the key to becoming a successful blogger.
You need to analyze which posts are doing well and which pins are performing great on Pinterest.
Pinterest also provides analytics but Google Analytics is an advanced tracking tool to understand better about your audience.
Install Google Analytics tracking code in the header section of your blog.
To insert the code Install the plugin Insert Headers & Footers Plugin from the Add Plugins page.
Copy & Paste and Google Site tag (gtag.js) in the Header Section.
Practice writing attention-grabbing and compelling TITLES.
In Practical terms, you need to split test multiple headlines and analyze which perform best.
Once you understand which title works well you can design multiple no. of PINS using the title.
Tips on Writing Headlines
- Use Numbers and Stats
- Include Your Main Keyword in the title.
- Provide Solution
- Generate Curiosity
- Use Emotion Evoking Words/Statements
- Keep it short and simple
- Lastly, Research your competitors
